ISFENPETREDSDEE 2024

2024 The International Symposium on Frontier Exploration of

New Principles, Equipment and Technologiesfor Resource Exploitation

in Deep Space-Deep Earth Environments

2024 The International Symposium on Frontier Exploration of New Principles, Equipment and Technologies for Resource Exploitation in Deep Space-Deep Earth Environments (ISFENPETREDSDEE 2024) is scheduled to be held in Shanghai on December 6-8, 2024. The seminar was jointly organized by Shenzhen University and Sichuan University.

With the rapid development of socialeconomy, the space and resources in the shallow part of the Earth can no longermeet the needs of human life and production, and the large amount of energyresources contained in "Deep Space-Deep Earth" is expected to providelong-term and effective support for the development of human society. However, theresource endowment features of "Deep Space-Deep Earth" are quitedifferent from those of the shallow parts of earth. For example, deep earth development often encounters engineering challenges such as largeengineering disturbances, high difficulty in hard rock fragmentation andfrequent occurrence of high-intensity disasters, while deep space explorationis faced with extreme and complex environments, including high vacuum, largetemperature differences, strong radiation, microgravity and other difficulties. Therefore, thereis an urgent need to explore and develop new principles, equipment and technologiesthat are compatible with the environment of "Deep Space-Deep Earth", so as to significantly increase the capacity of space utilization and resourceacquisition in the "Deep Space-Deep Earth" region, and to assist China in its scientific and technological power and international discourse on "Deep Space-Deep Earth".

The purpose of this special issue is toprovide a first-class platform for world-renowned scholars conducting researchrelated to the field of "Deep Space-Deep Earth" to report on their latesthigh-quality advances and to highlight possible future research directions fromtheir professional insights. This special issue is highlyappreciative of submissions of research on principles, equipment andtechnologies related to the field of "Deep Space-Deep Earth".
